Said the irrepressable Charlie Endell in the TV series. Old Iain Cuthbertson was a small screen diamond, one of his best roles was in Children Of The Stones, a children's programme that scared the shit out of kids back in the mid 70s. You can get it on DVD, I'd advise anyone to go out and buy it.
It was a bit scary (tenious link) last night being humbled at football, a heavy defeat that I'll tell you about in my 'And In The Sport' column just to the right on the home page is where the link is. It's great to be back though running around a football pitch after so long out. Having to go to the Edinburgh fringe with a broken arm isn't the best scenario but make do and mend if you'll pardon the pun. If mend means having a tight bandage on then I suppose I patched myself up. Mind you, not knowing I'd actually broken a bone in my elbow and thus putting my arterial bone out of action does make me officially a hard Geordie bastard I reckon.
Last night I watched a couple of Jewish American women do a show on Sky with Frank Skinner, Charles Dance and the feller with the beard that did opera singing for the Queen as guests. It was sort of quite good, they were reasonably funny. Kind of typically Noy Yoyk Jewish as well. The guests were good too. Good luck to them. Sky is trying hard. Admittedly some of their new stuff is kind of bollocks but at least they're trying to create something showbusiness wise.
I realise that I'm just gonna be an outside pissing in man for the rest of my life and career, but when you know that, you can think up some wonderfully dastardly acts without worrying about what Lord fuckin Reith or Lord Lou bastard Grade thinks. The trouble with Bill Hicks is he did give a fuck, in fact he gave far too much of a fuck and was felt so hard done by from the producers and directors at Letterman for having him cut out of the aforementioned show back in 1993. Nowadays you can start your own channel, isn't that amazing, one day I will, in the meantime you'll have to be contented with a CD release in December. Don't forget the launch night on December 9th. Be there people. Speak tomorrow.
