It might be the 13th day (unlucky for some) it might actually be day 14 but whatever, I'm still going without crying into the tressell table at the Pleasance Courtyard. I've another show tonight in that dreaded old part of town at The Circus Casino, who fuckin knows how that will pan out, to be honest who cares as long as I'm paid and then safely on my way.
Night off last night, I went home and had a family birthday celebration then afterwards watched a mighty fine win for comedy's own football team In Adminstration FC 2-1 against Bridge Too Far (full details to come this week in the And In The Sport column). Arm still aching but hey ho, I'm still here.
Quick RIP to the wonderful Sid Waddell, the legendary darts commentator from Lynemouth, Ashington. First in English Literature at Cambridge, writer of Jossy's Giants, writer of many entertaining books, the voice of darts and many quoted a great line and of course an avid Magpie as well. God rest you Sid. I worked with him once on our own cult classic The Regionnaires and he was one of our best guests. 'When Alexander of Macedonia was 33, he cried salt tears because there was no lands left to conquer, Bristow's only 27'. Magic!! Speak tomorrow.
