In For Two Pence

Yes, you can't be in for a penny anymore because it's gone up fuckin twofold. But the wages we get are going to go down. So instead of in for a penny in for a pound, it's more like in for two pence in for something like 60 pence but some of that will be taxed and the bank will only lend you that 2 pence if you can show that you've a good Experian record and that you've been paying everything up to date. Not that it should matter anyway because if their judgement is flawed, the government can bail the fuckers back out again. Cuuuuuuunts!!!

Right, a decent night almost in Southend. It looked like it might be my best night ever in Essex and I mean that but that was ruined slightly by a mouthpiece cunt stage right. He was dressed in an 80s track suit almost a woman's one and wouldn't shut the fuck up! Everytime I put him down, he was back for more. One thing I'll say about Essex people is they want their money's worth and some people were starting to turn with him. He was almost backwards and the relatively elderly people he was sitting with were giggling at his inane comments and sitting defiant at my put downs that were getting laughs from the rest of the crowd. I think the four of them still felt that their mate was 'winning'. Eventually I ignored his more desperate comments and ploughed on.

The staff at that gig are very nice and they do a good curry. It's a room I died in back in the mid 1990s when Ross Noble was compering so it's a place where I must exorcise a ghost everytime I step out on stage. Doing okay was enough and it spurred me on for the long drive home which did include a diversion through Teesside on the A19.

I'm in Leeds tonight so the same thing might happen. I'm at The Oak in Headingley and then I close The Library further into town but it's definitely in the heart of student land West Yorkshire. It's Bournemouth on Friday and thus far I'm jobless on Saturday. I'm not too bothered, I'll have a night in but if something good comes my way, it's mine.

The new season hasn't really started yet for me, something will kick the bastard into shape no doubt and sometimes these quiet to start seasons tend to work out the best, so who knows. After a difficult September, it looks like October will be a good'un, I fuckin hope so, a few more months like the one I've had and it'll be the dole office and a house via a housing association.

Right I'm off, enjoy your Thursday people. Speak tomorrow.
