The bloke in the internet cafe has just referred to Bobby Womak as precisely that after one of his tracks came on in the background. I think it's the bloke's private collection so he's bound to be a legend in his eyes. He's not going to say, have you heard this track everyone, it's by a right twat!
Anyway I digress, I'm trying to write quickly so he doesn't see that I'm ripping the piss out of him. He's just mentioned about being in body guard security and talks in a dramatic ITV drama type of a way. A general Northern English accent, perhaps it's Stephen Tompkinson doing a character of some sort?
Anyway it's great fun supporting Alexei Sayle. It's actually great to type those words. We were in Glesca last night and we're in Edinburgh tonight.
Last night's show went very well. I walked on a little nervous and felt my way through but after five minutes I had the bastards and it rocked for the next twenty. There was a few literary people in and I noticed Muriel Gray of The Tube fame in the room.
In all honesty I thought she would hate what I did, I don't know why but I thought her spiky 1980s bolshy woman TV presenter pcyche would be batting me all over the shop but her reaction was the polar opposite. She came up to me afterwards and was all over me, complimenting me on my material, saying how amazing I was. She was keen to know when I was on again in Glasgow and that she would come to see me again. It just goes to show you doesn't it. Don't judge a book by it's cover or don't judge a book by it's contents as my old mate and outrageously talented comedian Tony Mendoza would say.
She (Muriel) is good mates with Alexei and his wife and had come down to see him play. To be honest I feel privileged to not only support this man but to be in the audience watching his act. He's still funny there's no doubt about that and his act has rubbed off on to a generation. Right there's enough gushing for one blog, Dennis Waterman's a cunt, there you go there's a direct quote.
I'm off Wednesday, working in North Yorkshire on Thursday and then doing a dinner on Friday. Saturday is a double between Leicester and Nottingham and then on Sunday it's my first day off for exactly a year, someone has my Assembly spot on the 4th. Never mind we're back a week later for the first anniversary, can't wait!
Right that's your lot, speak tomorrow folks.
