Here I am in Narberth in Pembrokeshire and the phone hasn't got a signal, come on what year is this 1995?!!!! Oh dear it's so hippy. There's a lot of people with plummy rah rah right on accents that have obviously moved here. I've heard very few Welsh accents. James Cook the compere of the week (not like goal of the month but compere of these shows this week) told me that it's full of retired hippies which is pretty much a contradiction in terms. Oh I've had enough of dropping out all my life, I think I'll take it easy in my Autumn years.
Last night to be fair was gloriously good. Pontardowe is a place where I've never actually gigged before. It is a lot smaller than I expected. When I was a kid and they featured on Rugby special you expected it to be some sort of valleys metropolis but it's just one main street, some charity shops and various terraced rows with mountains on either side. Actually thinking about it that rugby special reference might be Pontypool or Pontypridd or Pontypandy or Pontypython's Flying Circus, not Pontardawe. Anyway they were great to play to and it was great to be in an old fashioned theatre setting full of people roaring at the 'jokes'.
After tonight, I move on to Blackwood Miner's institute for the Friday show and as it stands I'm still off on Saturday.
I've an interesting day on Sunday, more details to follow. Speak tomorrow citizens.
