More of that soon. In the meantime sorry for the lack of blog over the last few days. The work is really catching up with me now even though it appears I'm doing nowt at the minute.

I lost a gig last week because of the whims and the ego of touring comics. These vanity projects invariably don't even sell fuckin tickets and there they are taking our Thursday nights at the Glee away and we lose a big chunk of money. This week I've lost the upstairs show at The Balham Banana on Saturday, the downstairs one still survives but once again it's not the week it was with losing one of my gigs. This is due to people not coming to circuit gigs at the same rate that they used to, mainly because of the whole live at the Apollo thing and the Michael Can't spell his second name's comedy roadshow.

Yes it's good to do great gigs but fuck me money is the thing I'm thinking of the most. When you're struggling, by christ you're struggling and good well paid gigs getting pulled last minute fan the flames of the fire of London comedy circuit meltdown.

What to do? Start your own show. We do have Sundays in Newcastle but they are proving hard to get people to come to. On Sunday we had 25. Not too bad but not enough to keep the gig going forever. We must start getting more people through the door or Sunday night's Assembly show will just become a footnote in GW comedy history. This would be a shame because the shows in recent months have been great fun with great audiences.

On the upside, I'm supporting Alexei Sayle tonight at The Newcastle Stand. There you go people, a great announcement!! If you're wanting to come and see one of the most inspirational, influential and frankly ripped off comedian of our times then come down tonight, and don't forget Alexei Sayle is on as well.

Right I promise a blow by blow account of the night's gig in tomorrow's blog. Bye bye for now.
